Recognize your type of propulsion
Drive (Sterndrive)
Propulsion devices in the form of Z with the engine, they allow to transfer the energy from the engine to the propeller.
Most of the time, the pack refers to the foot of the engine ( hence the English Sterndrive). They also serve as a bowel to the boat and have a stabilizer adjustment mechanism to lift the boat at different speeds and thus reduce contact with the surface of the water.
V-Drive
Propulsion devices composed of two transmission shafts, a gearbox and a propeller.
The engine is mounted at the back of the boat and its front face in the direction of the back of the boat. The first transmission shaft connects the rear of the transmission to a gearbox mounted in the centre of the vessel, while the second shaft extends from the gearbox to the propeller.
Shaft line (Inboard)
Historical propulsion mode of motor boats, this propulsion (inboard) is a direct transmission mode between the engine and the propeller.
The propeller shaft results in engine power up to the propeller and the engine is placed at the centre of the vessel (to reduce the angle between the shaft and the buoy line)
The propeller shaft passes through the hull.
Jet Drive
Jet Drive (or Hydrojet) is a kind of pump. The boat advances with water that is sucked under the hull and propelled quickly at the back of the boat.
The turbine rotates very quickly inside a duct, and thanks to the "nozzle" in the back, the water flow can be diverted, which allows the direction change or the back march.
Another advantage is that the propeller does not appear outside, adding a little security.
