The switch, in fixed contact with the condenser, will trigger a strong electrical voltage at the secondary of the induction coil.This strong electrical tension will produce a spark that will be mitigated by the condenser and then sent to the Delco-powered candle.

As the screws are used, the bolted screws are diluted and used, usually quite quickly, it is imperative to change these switches in order to obtain a quality ignition.
